FROM PASTOR PHIL
Completing Ministry Here, My Prayer for Old Sate Road Christian Church
May you grow in your relationship with God, Jesus Christ and each other to love and share the Gospel, Good News of Jesus, beyond the doors of the church to the struggling, hurting people of Charleston, Coles County and the world in which you live and share, so that those who need to know the Lord will trust and depend on the God you have come to know and love. Amen.
Agape,
Phil
FROM THE STUDENT PASTOR
Grace and Peace to you, friends!
What a blessing to be a part of Old State Road Christian Church, where love, life, and compassion abound! As this will be my last (official) Sunday with you, my feelings are bittersweet! I am thankful to have completed another year of school, but in disbelief that my time with you has passed so quickly. It has been my pleasure to know you, serve you, and love you over the course of this school year. Thank you all for being so welcoming and encouraging throughout my time here. I have benefited and enjoyed each of the learning opportunities this experience has afforded me. With the flowers that are in full bloom upon the earth now, a new minister on the horizon for Old State Road, and a new semester that awaits me along my journey…we are all experiencing God’s timing and call upon us in our own seasons.
Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
1
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
May God bless each change and decision that you encounter in the upcoming months and the wonderful ministry that you will do in this community! I love you all!
Pastor Allissa
